This scanner was replaced by the successor Plustek OpticFilm 7400 in July 2009. Whoever compares the new 7300 with the old 7200 will externally just notice a changed housing colour. The technical data remained practically identical, the scanning software however changed.
I read all of the reviews, and was undecided between the lower-end image-capture devices that take a single image from negatives, and the real scanners like this Plustek. In then end, I went with this model, the 7400, which is the most basic of the Plustek scanners.

Mar 12, 2014 · The Plustek 8200i scanners are bundled with Silverfast scanning software. The “SE” version is the starter version of Silverfast. The “AI” version has a more advanced version of Silverfast. The hardware is the same. Also know that there is a cheaper Plustek 8100 scanner.
