Jul 21, 2018 · The film will be taped to the center film spool. Cut the film from the spool. Unless you want to cut through your pictures, cut the film at the base of the spool. Also, cut the tip of the film so that you have a square edge (the odd shaped piece that sticks out of the canister when you first buy the film).

Step 1: Roll Your Film. Practice rolling film with a roll of cheap film. Practice with your eyes open, and then do so with your eyes closed. When you’re ready to develop your actual film, place the practice film far away. The first roll of film that you develop shouldn’t be an important roll, of course.
